About Sakura Therapy
I believe therapy begins within a genuine connection where your unique story can truly be heard and validated. My role as a therapist is to provide space and support with attunement, compassion, and sensitivity to your specific needs. I believe that change occurs within the context of a trusting, respectful, and collaborative relationship in which you feel safe to speak freely about the challenges you are facing.
Together we will build and utilize effective coping skills and strategies specific to you, as well as address patterns of unwanted thoughts, behaviors and unhealthy relationships. I utilize a nuanced, crafted combination of evidenced-based therapies: Mindfulness, Motivational, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Person Centered, Trauma Informed, and Multicultural.
I graduated with Master in Arts in Clinical Psychology in 2014 and I obtained Addiction Study Graduate Certificate in 2015. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Substance Use Disorder Professional in the state of Washington. I have been practicing as a substance use disorder counselor for over eight years in both outpatient and inpatient settings. My therapeutic approach for addiction/co-occuring counseling is non-judgmental, empathetic, and integrative. I meet my clients where they are at, and I walk through the recovery journey with them one step at a time.
Throughout the therapy process clients should feel validated, appreciated, proactively motivated, and most importantly, empowered! I hope that you'll find that my services can provide this and more; offering relief, solutions, and peace-of mind.
